Following the return of the Lewisburg Winter Music Festival last weekend, festival organizers have reported the final number raised for the Southern Appalachian Musicians Association.
Following two days of music and fun, just over $29,000 was raised by festivalgoers to help support musicians in crisis and help foster music education in the region. LWMF officials say they will announce details for the aid application process “very soon” for those interested in applying.
“Y’all blew away our expectations,” they state in a social media post. “Words can’t begin to describe our gratitude but we’ll do our best:
A huge thanks to all the musicians for selflessly participating in this event and donating your art and time to further our mission. We literally couldn’t do this without y’all!
We couldn’t have hosted these great musicians without all our remarkable sound engineers keeping things together behind the scenes! We have great appreciation for your hard work providing great sound for bands at all our venues.
Also, a big thank you to all volunteers for running the doors and selling our merch! We appreciate your follow through to ensure our attendees were well taken care of.
We’d like to give a huge shoutout to all of Lewisburg’s service industry employees for working tirelessly over multiple shifts to show our guests the great hospitality our town is known for.
Finally, we’d like to thank all attendees for coming out strong to support the incredible musicians playing the event. The energy was incredible and everyone could feel the love!
See y’all next year!”
