Lewisburg House and Garden Club met Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m. in the home of Peggy Brown with Carol Olson as co-hostess. The speaker was Holly Morris of White Sulphur Springs who is a biologist specializing in wildlife with the Department of Natural Resources in Beckley. She gave the members many tips on how to protect their gardens and landscaping from deer followed by discussion with the members.
President Townley Hamilton conducted the business meeting and discussed the Sunflower Contest held Friday, Sept. 30, at Lewisburg Elementary School. Assisting her in measuring the sunflowers were Sue McKinney, Susan Harkness, Margaret Schleiff, Dee Dotson and Mary Jo Thompson. Decorating at Carnegie Hall for the holidays has been rescheduled for 10 a.m. on Nov. 30.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the residence of Dee Dotson with members exchanging perennial plants from their gardens.
