The Lewisburg House and Garden Club met May 28 at Montwell, the childhood home of Dr. Mary Montgomery Lindquist and Joan Montgomery, for the annual Spring Luncheon. Those attending were Mary Lindquist, Joan Montgomery, Judy Deegans, Carol Olson, Dee Dotson, Peggy Brown, Suzanne Cronquist, Polley Cunningham, Cheryl Gilman-Dobbs, Jill Gwynn, Sharon Holladay, Karen Lee McClung, Sue McKinney, Martha Perilli, Deborah Phillips, Carrie Sanders, Jeri Via, Ghee Gossard, Marit Withrow and prospective member, Shannon Beatty.
Following a delicious potluck lunch, the meeting was called to order by President Marit Withrow. Committee reports were given and member Jill Gwinn, who is on the 2026 committee for the annual house tour, gave a comprehensive report about the plans as they have developed and distributed save-the-date brochures for members to send to friends and neighbors. It will be on the second Saturday in June 2026. Proceeds from the event will benefit the beautification of the town and upkeep on the two cemetery plots at Lewisburg’s Old Stone Cemetery that are cared for by the membership.
