Spring has arrived hopefully to stay and with it comes the start of the 14th season of the Lewisburg Farmers Market. The season begins with the annual Meet Your Farmer fundraiser held in conjunction with the First Friday festivities on Apr. 4 in downtown Lewisburg.
This year, the Meet Your Farmer event is being sponsored by Hill & Hollar Bicycle Works at 118 West Washington Street where the event will be held. Starting at 5 p.m., there will be music, refreshments and a silent auction benefit and raffle. Come meet your farmers, find out what they’re planting, and put in your request for your favorite veggies and produce. Join them in celebrating the end of a too long winter.
The Lewisburg Farmers Market opens on Saturday, Apr. 12 at 8:30 a.m. at the Lewisburg United Methodist Church parking lot on East Washington Street. Check this column for weekly updates and announcements of special events.
