On Tuesday, August 18, at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office and the Lewisburg Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery that occurred at Lewie’s in Fairlea.
Upon arrival officers were advised that an individual had entered the establishment, presented a firearm, and directed the employee to load all of the money into a bag. The suspect, described as a black male wearing a black face mask, maroon shirt, and khaki shorts, departed the establishment with an undisclosed amount of currency.
It was believed the suspect was on foot and officers utilized K-9’s to search the area. A track was established, however, the K-9’s subsequently lost the scent and officers were unsuccessful in their attempt to locate the perpetrator.
The suspect has been identified as Gerald Tyrone King, 41, recently residing in the White Sulphur Springs area.
