Lee Street Listening Room is pleased to announce a new concert series aimed at introducing Lewisburg, West Virginia, to the world.
The inaugural concert of the series will feature touring rock violinist and Listening Room owner/operator Adam DeGraff and his solo project Rock Violin Neat on Saturday, July 28. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8:30 p.m.
This concert, made possible through the generous support of Paul Grist & Paul Grist Real Estate Associates, will feature cutting-edge live stream technology transporting the unique and vibrant experience that is Lewisburg’s local community, arts and dining culture to a global audience. Videographer and Lee Street Listening Room partner Jamie Murphy will orchestrate a live online experience that invites viewers into the virtual space of the Listening Room.
Audience members, both in-person and online, will enjoy a video short filmed in partnership with Paul Grist as well as local restaurants The French Goat, The Wild Bean, and Hill and Holler Pizza. The video will highlight Lewisburg’s historic and carefully-restored real estate and the easy comfort of the walkable downtown scene, with a humorous twist.
For in-person guests only, there will be signature wine cocktails designed by celebrated mixologist Henry Hill, available for sale in the gallery bar. Additionally, light fare will be provided by The French Goat, The Wild Bean, and Hill & Holler Pizza.
“This is a concept I’ve been working on for some time,” says DeGraff. “There has always been such wonderful synergy between the artists and businesses in Lewisburg. This community is so supportive of the arts; I just knew there was something more the arts could do to highlight Lewisburg and, in turn, highlight the businesses. We all thrive when more people discover how magical this place is.”
Adam DeGraff is an American violinist, composer, producer, educator, and farmer. He spent the first part of his career as a first-chair, professional orchestral musician. Since then, Adam has been experimenting with rock violin, song writing, and alternative music education. Adam attended Northwestern University as an undergraduate where he studied with famed Portuguese violinist, Gerardo Ribeiro. He then continued with graduate work at Rice University where he studied with the world’s most beloved concertmaster, Raphael Fliegel.
Adam’s solo performance has been called “Violin-driven indie rock at its best.” He is a “pyrotechnic fiddler,” and “violin monster.” SharMusic.com says he’s “one of the most innovative and dynamic fiddlers of his generation.”
The Lee Street Listening Room is an intimate music venue within Lee Street Studios Centre for the Arts, at 232 North Lee Street in Lewisburg. It is owned and operated by violinist Adam DeGraff, and in its short time in operation has brought provocative artist from Brooklyn, NY, Lubbock, TX, and even Israel.
