Fairlea – Lawrence “Mason” Harrah, Jr., 80, passed away, Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Fayette County, to late Lawrence Clayton Harrah, Sr. and Shirley Montgomery Pugh Harrah on Nov. 22, 1942.
He was a member of James Chapel United Methodist Church at Clintonville and was a retired technician for General Motors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Ellen Ayers Harrah; three sisters, Lorena Hubinak, Dreama Harrah and Donna Kay Stokley; and one brother, Raymond Harrah.
Survivors include two children, Stanley Junior Harrah of Fairlea and Samantha Harrah Cook of Fairlea; five grandchildren, Zoey Zellers, Zealy Zellers and Zeppelin of Missouri and Tyler Blake Cook of Fairlea and Anthony (Tony) Scott Cook of North Carolina; two sisters, Martha Drennen of Princeton and Bertha Phillips of Lewisburg; a brother, Roger Harrah and wife Jan of Meadow Bridge; and several cousins, nephews and nieces.
Memorial donations can be made to Harrah Cemetery on Backus Mountain in Fayette County.
The family would like to thank Peyton Hospice House for the excellent care and support given to Mason and the family while he was there.
As per his wishes Mason will be cremated and a graveside service will be announced at a later date on Backus Mountain in Fayette County.
