Lacy L. Toothman, DDS passed away peacefully Friday, Apr. 13, 2018. He was born Jan. 22, 1924, in Akron, Ohio, and spent his early years in Williamsburg, WV.
He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. and later worked as a welder building “Liberty Ships” in Baltimore. He entered the Army Air Corps. and trained as a Flight Cadet, receiving an honorable discharge at the end of WW II. After the war, he graduated from the OSU College of Dentistry in 1954 and practiced in the Upper Arlington and NW Columbus area for 50 years.
As an aircraft owner and a pilot, Lacy participated in several flying organizations and groups. He also enjoyed boating and was a 32nd degree Mason in the Shrine Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rowena; his son, Thad; and a grandson, Michael.
He is survived by three sons, Craig (Tricia), Scott, and Barth (Kimberly); as well as ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Tuesday evening, Apr. 17 at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221.
