Kenneth Lee Carter, Sr., 82, of White Sulphur Springs went to his Heavenly Home on Nov. 18, 2024.
He was born Feb. 15, 1942, in Gap Mills, the son of the late William and Mary Frances Carter Banks.
Kenny loved to cook, which was his calling in life as it took him to his career as a chef at The Greenbrier Hotel, retiring after 49 plus years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of White Sulphur Springs. Kenny loved and was loved by his family.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Jacqueline Berry Carter on Feb. 4, 2024; a son William “Billy” Carter and sisters, Peggy Miller and Gertrude Moore.
Those left to cherish Kenny’s memory are his daughters, Karen Winkfield and Kayla Mann (Dale); sons Kenneth Carter, Jr. (Rosemary) and Kendrick Carter (Becky); grandchildren, Marcus Berry (Misty), Matthew Winkfield (Patrice), Michael Winkfield (Lillah), Monica Wilmer (Mike), Tonita Dixon (Jamal), Kadin Burris (Hannah), Keith Berry (Brianna), Allie Hicks (Greg), Koah Carter and Kennox Lee Carter; great grandchildren, Ethan Berry, Whitney Pack, Natasha Pack, Taylor Noel, Bryce Winkfield, Braxtyn Winkfield, Summer Berry, Kaylee Berry, Rowan Wilmer, Amani Carter, A.J. Dixon and Keyana Berry.
Funeral services for Kenny will be Dec. 5, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of White Sulphur Springs with Rev. Ronald Sherrod and Rev. Greg Scott officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhill Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs.
The family will be receiving family and friends from 12 noon until time of services at the church on Dec. 5, 2024.
