John William Scott
White Sulphur Springs-John William (Bill) Scott died at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, after several years of declining health.
Born Dec. 30, 1932, he was the only child of the late Isadora Hanna and John Scott.
Bill loved his alma mater, White Sulphur High School from which he graduated in 1952. He served his country as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force, after which he spent several years in the hotel business. Among those hotels for which he worked, were The Homestead and the Sheraton in Washington, DC.
For more than 20 years he owned and managed Eagle Nest, at that time, a popular local restaurant.
Bill is survived by his cousin, Susan Stentz, her husband, Mike and their family of White Sulphur Springs; his cousins, Steve King and wife Sue and their family and Dan King all of White Sulphur Springs and Toby King and wife Jennifer of Toronto, Canada; and cousins, Pat Davis and Mike O’Conner of Richmond, VA.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
