The John Henry Museum Restoration Gala is set for May 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Talcott at the John Henry Museum (previously Dillion’s Supperette). the event will include a silent auction and entertainment with live performance by Chosen Generation and the Jacob Woodrum Band. Appetizers and refreshments will be served. A traveling WV History/Cultural display from National Coal Heritage will be on view.
After retirement, Donna and Ellery Wykle donated the Dillion’s Supperette building to the John Henry Historical Society to be used for the John Henry Museum and Gift Shop. Restoration of the building has started and the main store room is almost complete. All proceeds from the event will go towards the continued effort to restore and preserve this historic structure.
Parking is available across the railroad tracks and in the lot near the boat ramp.
