Joan Alison Cash, 72, our beloved Mommy, Nana, sister, aunt and friend went home to be with the Lord following a brief and valiant battle with cancer Monday, Apr. 10, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Joan was born on Oct. 26, 1950, to the late Wesley and Marguerite Holley Wickline.
Joan was raised in White Sulphur Springs and graduated from White Sulphur Springs High School, class of 1968. Joan was the oldest daughter of six children and loved taking care of her brothers and sisters. Joan married Berkley Lewis on Sept. 3, 1972. They had one daughter, Krisinda. On May 9, 1981, Joan married Larry Cash. Larry had two daughters, Rita and Nancy. Joan and Larry had one daughter together, Holly. Larry and Joan and their four daughters formed a happy, blended family.
Joan worked at The Greenbrier Hotel and as a department manager at Peebles. She spent the last 12 years caring for her grandsons. Joan was good at many things, but there is nothing she did better than be a loving Mommy and Nana to her children and grandchildren.
Joan attended Eakle Chapel and enjoyed Sunday mornings listening to Jimmy Swaggert. Joan lived out her faith in how she lived selflessly, loved everyone, and always helped anyone in need. Joan touched the lives of everyone who knew and loved her.
Those cherishing Joan’s memory are daughters, Krisinda Lewis (Russell), Holly Ridpath (Lance), stepdaughters, Rita Cash (W.W.), and Nancy Hanna (Chris); grandchildren, Dawn Huffman (Cam), Natalie Rinehart (Jared), Dylan Hanna (Tiffany), Sarah Graver (Joe), Laura Hanna, Noah Warner, Cash Ridpath, London Smith, Atticus Smith, and Westley Ridpath; great-grandchildren, Carter Huffman, Wyatt and Layla Rinehart. Joan was a favorite aunt to her many nieces and nephews who were so special to her.
