Jim Childers of Lewisburg won the Greenbrier East High School and Eastern Greenbrier Middle School Golf Team raffle for a round of golf for four plus carts at the Greenbrier Sporting Club Snead Course. Childers is now giving the golf package back to the Greenbrier East Golf Team to help support the expenses the team has during their season. Childers has asked Coach Terry Koon and Coach Mac Parks to sell 12 raffle tickets for $100 each to determine the new winner and raise more money for the team. Childers said he was proud of the coaches who dedicate their time to coach our young people and the players on the team. Childers’s son J. J, Childers played on the Greenbrier East Golf Team under Coach Darrel Bartley. Childers said that he was also proud of all students, student athletes, and coaches at all of our Greenbrier County schools and wishes the best to all of them.
Anyone interested in buying one of the 12 tickets may text or call Coach Terry Koon’s cell phone at 304-992-9967. The certificate for the golf package is good at the Sporting Club until Aug. 1, 2016, and is good for four players plus carts.
Also, the winner of the Old White golf package that was also used to raise money for the Greenbrier East High School and Eastern Greenbrier Middle School golf teams was Duncan McDuff of Virginia Beach, VA.
The coaches and teams wish to thank all who supported the fund raising event and thank the Greenbrier and Sporting Club for donating these golf packages to the teams. The fund raising effort was very successful for both golf teams.
