Ronceverte – James “Jimmy” LaFon, 79, of left to be with his Lord Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at CAMC in Charleston.
Jimmy was a truck driver by trade until at age 49 an accident ended his truck driving career. Later he had a small farm, raising cattle until his health caused him to give it up. He attended the Second Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Kathleen Wood LaFon; brother, Eddie LaFon; sister, Marie Brooks; brother-in-law; James Brooks; and sister-in-law, Rose LaFon.
Those left to cherish Jimmy’s memory are his wife of 60 years, Nancy Bostic LaFon; daughter Kathi and husband Mike Judy; granddaughters, Gabrielle Judy and Tashina Simmons; brothers, Tommy (Edith) Lafon, Jack LaFon and Wayne (Mary) LaFon; special sister- in-law, Rachel Dreher; and several nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was cremated and his ashes will be spread on the farm at a later date.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Apr. 7, at 1 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte with Pastor Donald Trent officiating.
