Ronceverte-James Andrew Baker, 83, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, at his home.
Born Apr. 4, 1935, in Ronceverte, he was the son of the late Cecil R. and Inez Baker.
Mr. Baker was a retired postal carrier. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Ronceverte and was also a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil Jack Baker, Ashby David Baker and Robert Lacy “Bob” Baker; an infant sister; and son-in-law, Mike Sulser.
He was a loving father to his surviving two daughters, Cassandra “Sandy” Cole and Tamara “Tammy” (Curtis) Burns all of Ronceverte; grandchildren, Charles (Christina) Sulser, James (Lauren) Sulser, Brittany (Randy) Burns, Tracey (Kenny) Hylton and Baylee Burns; great-grandchildren, Townes and Kori Hylton, Michael Ray Sulser, Krew McCormick, Hunter and Ruger Jack Blankenship, Rhiannon and Aliyah Blankenship; his furry companions, Little Bit and Puss Foot; the mother of his daughters, Esther Aleshire; special friend, Roxanne Cox; and several nieces and nephews.
It was Mr. Baker’s wish to be cremated. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of the service.
