Ivy & Stone is excited to announce the upcoming performance of the West Virginia Dance Company (WVDC) at Nicholas County High School Auditorium in Summersville, on Saturday, Mar. 12, at 7:30 p.m.
In 1977, West Virginia Dance Company was founded with the distinct purpose of enriching lives through dance. Today, they continue to perform a thorough blend of educational, entertaining and thought-provoking modern works that generate enthusiasm in audiences of all ages. The company is comprised of highly trained, professional dancers, whose repertoire includes works influenced by West Virginia’s rich cultural heritage and various cultures from across the globe.
WVDC is the only professional touring dance company in the history of the Mountain State. The company has performed extensively in West Virginia and fourteen other states, as well as in Brazil. Each year, WVDC reaches tens of thousands of K-12 students through its arts education program. For many students, WVDC is their first exposure to the arts.
