A fire broke out in a residential area on Red Oak Lane, off Big Draft Road in White Sulphur Springs late Monday night. The blaze was reported to the 911 dispatch center by residents in the home when they smelled smoke at 9:53 p.m., and fire departments from White Sulphur Springs, Lewisburg, Fairlea, Frankford, Anthony Creek and Dunlap, VA, responded with tankers and manpower, according to Chief Brian Ford of the Frankford Volunteer Fire Department. The fire was quelled by around 2:30 a.m.
