Haley Brooke Cahill graduated Summa Cum Laude from Appalachian State University on May 9 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication and a concentration in journalism. Students graduating with these honors have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.85. Cahill was also honored as the top academic student in the journalism discipline and was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2015 semester.
During her final college semester, Cahill was the editor-in-chief of the Appalachian State branch of the online magazine, Her Campus, headquartered in Boston, MA. She also completed a remote internship with the magazine as a chapter advisor, overseeing eight universities’ chapters of the magazine.
Cahill has accepted the position of Assistant Director of New Chapter Development at her sorority’s international headquarters, Alpha Omicron Pi, in Nashville, TN.
Appalachian State University, located in Boone, NC, is a liberal arts university with an undergraduate enrollment of 18,000 students. Cahill is a 2011 graduate of Greenbrier East High School and the daughter of Jan and Selina Cahill of Lewisburg.
