Members of the Greenbrier Valley Aquatic Center Sea Dragons swim team competed in the SMAC Summer Classic in Waynesboro, VA, on June 21-23. The meet was held in an Olympic length pool, and the Sea Dragons outperformed their converted short course seed times by over 80 seconds combined.
Each swimmer had a personal best or first-time swim in every event they completed. Top Sea Dragons swims were the 100m breaststroke (Tianna Allen), 50m butterfly (Avery Hodges-McGuffin), 400m freestyle (Emily Hobbs) and 50m backstroke (Zoey Hobbs). The next meet will be an intrasquad sprint meet at GVAC on July 10 at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend and show their support for the new swimmers participating in their first meet and the swimmers preparing for the long course state championships.
