Tim Bess has been named Chief Executive Officer of Greenbrier Valley Medical Center effective June 22, 2020. He comes to GVMC from Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, WV.
“I look forward to working with the board, physicians and employees to provide our patients with the compassionate medical care they need,” said Bess. “It is an honor to lead Greenbrier Valley Medical Center and support this staff’s dedication to providing quality healthcare.”
Tim served as the CEO of Bluefield Regional Medical Center through October 2019 and continued as the Vice President of Operations following the BRMC divestiture from Community Health Systems. Prior to his position with BRMC, he served as CEO of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, a 300 bed for-profit acute care hospital that is part of the LifePoint Health hospital system. He began his healthcare career at Saint Francis Hospital in South Charleston, WV and also spent time working with Thomas Health System and Wythe County Community Hospital.

Tim earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Charleston and his bachelor’s degree from Marshall University. Tim and his wife look forward to becoming an active part of our Greenbrier Valley community.
