Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company will host their first-ever Greenbrier Valley Festival on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 1 to 9 p.m. at its Maxwelton location.
The festival will showcase the region’s music, artisans, and food vendors, and will feature a special small-batch beer release. Admission is free and the event is open to all ages.
Food vendors include The Hangar, Mountain Table, and Sweet Tooth Wonderland from Hinton. Artisan and nonprofit vendors will include Tea Tree Clay Works, Micks Media Jewelry, B&R Laser Engraving, WV Beef Jerky, Greenbrier Valley Fly Fishing Classic, WILD Institute, Sister Wicks Candle Company, Fusion Permanent Jewelry, Child and Youth Advocacy Center, Children’s Home Society, and others.
Live music will be provided by Paul E. Johnson and Corey Lee McQuade from 1 to 4 p.m., followed by The Goodson Boys from 5 to 9 p.m.
The brewery will debut its newest release, 300 Dead Monkeys Stout. Aged in Smooth Ambler Contradiction barrels and infused with Mountain Table Seneca Shadows Coffee, the 10.5% ABV stout pays homage to an Appalachian folk tale surrounding a 1906 circus train tragedy inside the Big Bend Tunnel.
A 50/50 fundraiser will be held during the event to benefit the Greenbrier Fly Fishing Classic, a nonprofit supporting local programs such as the Child and Youth Advocacy Center, Greenbrier Youth Camp, and Project Healing Waters.
