Greenbrier County Schools applauded Greenbrier County’s Teacher of the Year, Kevin Warfield, and Teacher of the Year honorees from schools throughout the county during the Oct. 13 meeting of the Board of Education.
School-level Teacher of the Year honorees were introduced by Lynne Bostic, director of Elementary & Middle School Education; Deborah White, director of Secondary Education; and Julie Shiflet, director of Career & Technical Education. Those honored include: Barbara Myers (Alderson Elementary), Ali Stevenson (Crichton Elementary), Marla Bell (Frankford Elementary), Susan Simms (Rupert Elementary), Erica Vaughan (Western Greenbrier Middle), Lynda Ambler (Lewisburg Elementary), Beth Modrzakowski (Ronceverte Elementary), Kerri Vaughan (Smoot Elementary), Adena Okes-Hawkins (White Sulphur Springs Elementary), Chef Chris Foley (Greenbrier West High School), and Kevin Warfield (Greenbrier East High School).
The West Virginia Teacher of the Year Program is coordinated with the national program and annually recognizes all county teachers of the year at a ceremony in Charleston. Kevin Warfield was selected as Greenbrier County’s Teacher of the Year. Warfield advanced to be recognized as one of six finalists for the West Virginia Teacher of the Year at a ceremony in Charleston earlier this fall.
