The Greenbrier is ready to celebrate its 238th birthday, and the party is going to be one to remember.
Five days of celebration are planned to commemorate the event, beginning Wednesday, May 4, and running through Sunday, May 8.
On each of the five nights, historic pre-fixe dinners will be offered, with menus highlighting a special selection of dishes served throughout the last 100 years. On Saturday, May 7, the day of the Kentucky Derby, there will be a special Derby Dinner, and on Sunday, May 8, there will be a Mother’s Day brunch. Both will be served in the Main Dining Room.
A photography contest will include two age groups – 12 and under and 13 and over – and will give guests at The Greenbrier a chance to win prizes for the images they capture on their cell phones or digital cameras. Photos taken by registered overnight guests from Thursday, May 5 until noon on Saturday, May 7, can be entered into the contest.
Other birthday-themed events will also help kick off the start of the summer season, including golf and croquet tournaments, special history tours, unique dining opportunities, birthday celebrations at Afternoon Tea, cake walks, painting workshops and much more.
