Greater Mountain Lakes Home & Garden Show set for March 12 and 13
Exhibitors are gearing up for the Greater Mountain Lakes Area Home & Garden Show’s 10th anniversary, to take place Mar. 12 and 13 at the Summersville Arena. The regions only Home & Garden Show provides easy access to a wide range of businesses that serve the area, at the start of spring when everyone is ready to begin checking-off the project to-do lists they spent the winter dreaming of.
With a variety of things to see and do, everyone can find something to enjoy at the Show. Sports and movies play on big screen TV’s, and Xbox and Wii games to play at the Shentel booth. Enter to win drawings, see costumed characters, and browse businesses and services such as Alford Home Solutions, American Red Cross, Art in Stones Jewelry, Basement Systems of WV, Bath Fitter, Girl Scouts, Blue Ridge Wood Crafters, Bluefield State College, Community Trust Bank, D’s Crafts & Creations, Donaldson’s Greenhouse & Landscaping, Hall’s Kitchen & Bath, the Hound Dog Snackery, JanCare Ambulance, Pink Zebra, Shafer Insurance Associates, Real Time Pain Relief, Tactical Surplus & Survival, Tastefully Simple, Tupperware, US Cellular, Twin Falls Resort State Park, Wally’s Squadron, and a representative of the WV Office of the Attorney General.
“To produce a great Show for exhibitors and buyers alike, I work to bring together a diverse group of businesses, each with their unique strengths, to be a part of something that’s more than just a trade show,” said show manager, Rachel Davis.
Special guests for the weekend include the tough ladies of roller derby, the Beckley Area Derby Dames on Saturday, and Beckley native Cody Wickline from Season 8 of “The Voice” with his debut album “Son of a Working Man,” on Sunday.
With a little something for everyone and a fun reason to shake off the winter blues, bring the family, meet with friends, or spend some time on yourself at the area’s only one-stop-shop for home improvement and personal interests. Show times are Saturday, Mar. 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, Mar. 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free for Law Enforcement and Veterans; $4 for age 18 and up; $3 for age 60 and over; $2 for age 13 to 17; free for children age 12 and under accompanied by an adult.
Through an assortment of participation options, Show sponsors range from providing door prizes to cooperative advertising partners, and include Shentel, Summit Media Broadcasting, AutoZone, Choice Hotels, GameStop, and IMPEL Promotions.
To launch the Show, a Business After Hours is scheduled Friday, Mar. 11, at 5 p.m. Exhibitors, Chamber members, prospective members, and prospective Show participants are encouraged to attend the business to business networking opportunity, in an enjoyable atmosphere with light refreshments provided.
