Grady Lee Reed, 94, of Rupert passed away on Tuesday, Mar. 24, 2026 at his home.

He was born on Aug. 19, 1931, the son of the late Alex M. Reed and Lillie J. Stacy Reed.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Jean Kessler Reed; son, Steven Lee Reed; sisters, Margie, Delsie and Elsie; brothers, Eddie and Charlie .

Grady was an Army veteran and a coal miner. He enjoyed going to church and attended the Orient Hill Tabernacle and Amwell Baptist Church, being outdoors and he was an avid fisherman and hunter. His testimonies in church always included all the things God did for him, his fish stories and often a song that he wrote. He will be missed by all his family, church family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, Grady Allen Reed and Glen Darrin Reed both of Rupert; grandchildren, Stephanie and Sara; five great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald Reed of Rupert; nieces, nephews; extended family and friends.

Service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Mar. 30, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Pastor Andrew Bailes officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may gather with the family one hour prior to the service.
