Lewisburg-Graden Reece Grimmett, 78, passed away Tuesday, Apr. 30, 2019, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA.
Born Oct. 6, 1940, at Elk Knob, WV, he was the son of the late Herman Cline and Delma Athena Massey Grimmett.
Reece was a member of the Lewisburg Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was also a proud member of the NRA.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Phyllis Ann Fox Grimmett and two brothers, H. Neil Grimmett and Ronald Keith Grimmett.
Survivors include his children, Rodney Reece Grimmett (Katherine) of Boones Mill, VA and Gina Lynn Mitchell (Donald) of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren, Ryan Reece Grimmett (Emily), Regan Lewis Grimmett, Connor Reece Mitchell, Caden Andrew Mitchell and Cameron Brady Mitchell; great-grandson, Graden Reece Grimmett; and three nephews, Duane, Patrick and Mike Grimmett all of North Carolina.
Funeral service was held Monday, May 6, at the Lewisburg Baptist Church where Pastor Jonathan Comer officiated. Burial with Military Rites followed in Rosewood Cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday evening, May 5, at the Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg.
