Last week, Gov. Morrisey announced that $525,000 in site readiness grants will be disbursed to six counties across the state. The Governor made the announcement at a presentation held in Caldwell, where $75,000 in funding will go to develop the Harts Run Site.

On Aug. 29, Governor Patrick Morrisey announced $525,000 of site readiness grants in six West Virginia counties during a presentation held in Caldwell. The funds are being awarded through the Ready Sites Program and will be used for engineering or architectural needs related to the sites, including studies that need to be completed in order to begin development.

“Speed to build is critically important when companies are deciding on a location to do business, build facilities, and create jobs,” said Governor Morrisey. “We are very proud to be partnering with these counties and it reflects our shared commitment to support economic development initiatives that strengthen community infrastructure, enhance site preparedness, and attract new business investment.”

Governor Morrisey announced the following awards:

Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation – $75,000 to develop the Harts Run Site located in Greenbrier County.

Randolph County Development Authority – $75,000 to support site readiness efforts for the Randolph Development District Industrial Park.

Mingo County Redevelopment Authority – $75,000 to support site readiness efforts for the Mingo County Air Transportation Park and $75,000 for the Harless Industrial Park.

Huntington Area Development Council – $75,000 to develop the Aldridge Site located in Cabell County.

Lincoln Economic Development Authority – $75,000 to support site readiness efforts for the Lincoln Business Park.

Business Development Corporation of the Northern Panhandle – $75,000 to support site readiness efforts for the Beech Bottom Industrial Park located in Brooke County.
