The Greenbrier Historical Society (GHS) is the proud recipient of West Virginia’s 2025 Local Economic Development Assistance Grant. On Aug. 5, Senator Vince Deeds presented GHS Board Member Janice Cooley with the grant funds. The funds have been earmarked to support GHS’ Hidden History project, which Ms. Cooley manages.
The historical society deeply appreciates the support of Governor Patrick Morrisey as they move forward with leveraging economic development through the Hidden History project. The project includes moving the MERILUCO building from the WV State Fair Grounds to Rainelle, WV, where it will house a permanent exhibit about the history of the people and industries of the Meadow River Valley.
