White Sulphur Springs-Genevieve Palmer James, 94, of The Creekside at The Greenbrier, passed away early Monday morning, Aug. 31, 2015, at The White Sulphur Springs Family Care Center.
Born Jan. 8, 1921, in Valparaiso, IN, she was a daughter of the late George Washington and Helen Fargo Stevens Capouch.
She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church in White Sulphur Springs. Graduating at Barnum Drama, she enjoyed British Drama, plays and theater. She also liked to read, cook and shop.
Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee James in 2007.
Survivors include one daughter, Alexandria James at home, and several nieces and one nephew.
Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home with Rev. Christopher Thompson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN.
