Lewisburg-Frederick Lyle Teubert, 88, went home to be with his Lord surrounded by his family, Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, at the Lewisburg Healthcare Center. Born Mar. 16, 1935, in Big Creek, WV, he was the son of Edward and Cecilia Teubert.
He loved his family and served his community by working at Kroger for 44 years as the Produce Manager. Following that he and Ann ran the Gingerbread Cottage and Fred was known affectionately as “Paw Paw” to many children that passed through their doors. Fred was the patriarch of his family. Fred was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt with his family and ride motorcycles. He loved spending time at the family farm riding his four-wheeler. Fred was a Christian who loved the Lord. He attended the Greenbrier Valley Baptist Church in White Sulphur Springs and served his church and sang in the Scrap Iron Quartet and was the song leader for many years. In recent years Fred attended Grace Bible Church in Asbury.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Teubert; brothers, Eddie Teubert, Bobby Teubert, and Roy Teubert; sister, Marie (Zac) Zackoski.
Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Margaret Ann Teubert; his children, Michael (Dorcus) Teubert, Randy (Tammy) Teubert, Chris (Joan) Teubert, Scotty (Melissa) Teubert; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Bell and Kathy Teubert; many nieces, and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Thursday, Dec. 28, at the Grace Bible Church, Asbury, where Pastor Mike Teubert officiated. Visitation was Wednesday evening, Dec. 27, at the church. Burial followed the service, Thursday, in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg, WV.
