Renick-Fred Terl Workman, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013. He was the son of the late Jack Andrew and Gladys Hanson Workman of Auto.
Fred was preceded in death by his brother Jack Lane Workman, and his sister Bonnie Sue West.
He is survived by: his beloved wife of 45 years, Josephine Ann Blake Workman; three daughters and one son, Carla Renee Lilly (Cecil), Leigh Ann Berg (Matthew), Amanda Jo Workman (Kenneth Pond), Fred Jared Workman (Molly); five grandchildren, Casey, Caleb, Cassie, Elijah and Timothy; sisters, Betty Jo Lewis (Buck), Linda Kay Keene (Billy), Janice Ellen Page (Ervin), Pamela Jewell Rizzo, Rachel Workman; brothers, David Lynn Workman (Lois), Randell Lee Workman (Anna), Andy Workman (Barbara); sister-in-law, Janie Dolan Workman; brother-in-law, John West; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fred’s first love was the Lord, followed closely by his family. He took great joy and pleasure in his children and grandchildren. Never meeting a stranger, Fred was always willing to lend a hand wherever help was needed. As an avid outdoorsman you could find Fred hunting, working in his garden, or taking long walks. He served his community for 50 years as a contractor and had served with the National Guard.
Visitation was held at Morgan Funeral Home on Sunday, Dec. 22.
Services were also at Morgan Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 23, followed by burial in the Woodland Cemetery in Auto. Services were officiated by Pastor Larry Kessler. Pallbearers were Christopher Workman, Michael Lewis, Andrew J. Workman, Darin Keene, Doug Lewis and Joey Feury.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be sent to a charity, church or organization that is near to your heart, in Fred’s name.
