In the midst of the bitter cold temperatures a home fire in Ronceverte rekindled twice since it initially started Tuesday afternoon.
The first rekindle was at 10 p.m. Tuesday night, Jan. 7. It then rekindled a second time around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning. Crews were still on scene as of 4:30 a.m., working to put the fire out. Dispatchers said that multiple fire departments were called to the home on River Crest Lane off of River Road just before 2 p.m. There were no injuries reported.
On Monday, Jan. 6, a fire broke out at a home on Davis Stuart Road near Lewisburg injuring one person. The fire was reported just after 1 p.m. Several departments were reported on the scene. One person had to be rescued from inside the house. The identity of the victim and the extent of the injuries have not been released. Officials said that they were looking to airlift the victim to the hospital, but a helicopter was not able to be launched due to weather conditions.
