The Fairlea ARP Church invites children ages rising kindergarten through rising seventh grade to participate in a Creative Arts Camp, running from June 27 through June 30, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the church building. The Arts Camp invites children to select two classes from six different classes, which will be offered during two class periods each evening. The final evening on Friday will be a participants’ “show and tell” along with a meal for the whole family. The fee for this experience is $15 per child, or $30 per family, and includes a specially designed T-shirt for their experience. The Arts Camp will feature six classes, from which each child will choose two. Children will gather at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary of the Church for a brief Bible study, then rotate to each of their two classes through the rest of the evening.
Classes offered include:
• Calligraphy, with children learning to use markers and pens to create beautiful alphabet letters
• Felting, with children learning how raw sheep wool can be transformed into felted objects using hot water and soap
• Create with Clay, with children working fast-drying clay into forms they can decorate
• Painting, with children learning the basics of painting with watercolor, and older students experimenting with acrylics
• Ukulele, with children learning a few basic chords and how to play simple songs
• Firefly in a Box, with children creating a light-up firefly in their own little box, which they will decorate with paint.
The Fairlea ARP Church is on Rt. 219 northbound (Seneca Trail S), at 9364 Seneca Trail South, across the street from the main entrance to the Fairgrounds.
