White Sulphur Springs – Evelyn Dorene Parker Cales passed into our Lord’s hands on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, after a long illness.
Born Dec. 31, 1957, in Bedford, VA, she was the daughter of Abner and Helen Parker.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Abner Parker; sister, Pam Schoensee; brother, Roger Parker; and great-granddaughter Elizabeth Quick.
Survivors include her mother, Helen Parker of White Sulphur Springs; husband of 34 years, Melvin R. Cales of White Sulphur Springs; daughters, Melissa Pritt and Crystal Bretz both of Covington, VA; ten grandchildren, Tanesha, Keiara, Arieanna, Mark Albert, Abigale, Kara, Phillip, Jeremiah, Jazmine and Marcus; and five great-grandchildren, Amberlynn, John, Nikara, Zayden and Kai.
Evelyn loved the simple things in life like gardening, pets, wildlife and children which she had around her all her life. Although her sickness has taken her away, it cannot take the sweet memories of our life with her. She will be missed by all she touched, but never forgotten by any.
Funeral services were on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs, where Pastor Gene Sizemore officiated. Burial was in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends and family were received Tuesday evening, Jan. 30, at the funeral home in White Sulphur Springs.
