Incumbent Congressman Evan Jenkins, will face off in a live debate with his Democtratic opponent, Matt Detch next week.
The candidates will go head to head on issues such as the coal industry, drug abuse and the future of West Virginia’s 3rd district.
WVOW in Logan County is giving the candidates two minutes each to answer four questions from host, Jay Nunley, as well as an additional four minutes to outline their vision for the area.
The debate will be broadcast live at 9.30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, on WVOW Radio, and will be available afterwards to listen to online.
Of the upcoming debate, Detch said “I am looking forward to it. We have attempted to set up a debate for the past six months, but Mr. Jenkins never seemed interested. It’s important for the people of the third district to hear their candidates’ views so they know what their voice in Washington will sound like.”
