As a ministry to local residents whose primary language is one other than English, Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene is now offering weekly English as a Second Language (ESL) classes every Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church in Fairlea.
Any person who would like to improve his or her English listening and speaking skills is invited to the class. The curriculum consists of a variety of interactive video sessions with accompanying speaking and listening activities coupled with reinforcing workbook activities, facilitated by instructors from the church. It is produced by Accelerated Christian Education, the same company that develops the curriculum used by Greenbrier Valley Nazarene’s Liberty Christian School.
Although a registration fee of $20 is requested, scholarships are available to those with financial challenges. Transportation is available by calling Pastor Glen Thaxton at 304-646-6243.
