Woodbridge, VA-Else Keith Skaggs, 84, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, after a short illness.
Born July 20, 1931, at Jodie, WV, she was a daughter of the late Charles M. and Lois Frances Lair Keith.
Elsie graduated from Gauley Bridge High School in 1949. For nearly 30 years she worked in a variety of positions in the medical profession, ranging from Physician’s Assistant at the Gauley Clinic to EMT/Dispatcher for San-Care Ambulance Service. In the late ‘60s she worked at The Greenbrier Clinic in White Sulphur Springs in the lab and with patient care during physicals and from 1967-1970 worked at Greenbrier Valley Hospital in Ronceverte in the lab and performing EKG’s.
Elsie truly enjoyed all of her work in the medical profession and would have continued to do it for many more years had she been physically able to do so.
Survivors include: daughter, Lois Donovan and son-in-law, Blair Donovan; sister, Carolyn Meeks and brother-in-law, Bob Meeks; brother and sister-in-law, Milburn and Goldie Skaggs; nieces, Bonnie Skaggs Hayes and Barbara Meeks; and nephew, David Skaggs.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Morningside Cemetery at Renick.
Visitation was Monday evening, Sept. 7, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
