White Sulphur Springs-Eloise Owens, 84, passed away on Friday afternoon, Aug. 8, 2014, at her residence after a short illness.
Born on Sept. 19, 1929, in White Sulphur Springs, she was a daughter of the late James Allen and Lillian Craft Terry.
Mrs. Owens was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She was a retired employee of The Greenbrier. She loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, other than her parents, was her husband, Lovurn Charles “Chuck” Owens in 2002; sisters, Camilla Terry, Eleanor Flack and husband Verlin; granddaughter, Dr. Deborah Glover-Fisher; and stepmother, Lydia Hoke Terry.
Survivors include: daughters, Barbara Hoke of Schoolcraft, MI, Carol Glover of Covington, VA and Charlotte Cummings (Mike) of Hermitage, PA; sons, Jim Owens of Bluefield, WV and Chuck Owens (Mary Sue) of Alpharetta, GA; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; sister, Wilda Lucas (Jack) of White Sulphur Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her caregivers, who she loved as family, Tammy Long, Audrey VanBuren and Makenzie Burns.
Her funeral service was conducted Tuesday, Aug. 12, in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home where her grandson; Pastor Jeffrey Cummings officiatied.
Interment followed in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg.
