Eleven supporters of the Greenbrier County Youth Camp at Anthony were inducted onto the Greenbrier County Youth Camp Honor Roll during ceremonies held at the camp on Saturday, May 21, including one who was honored posthumously.
The late Beulah Arthur of Clintonville was honored along with Lucy C. Bell of Frankford; Betty and George Gillespie of White Sulphur Springs; Diann Hayes of Lewisburg; Billie Jean Hutsenpiller of Smoot; Shirley Linkous of White Sulphur Springs; Jim Miller of White Sulphur Springs; David A. Sebert of Fairlea; Frank W. Tuckwiller of Lewisburg, Larry Cordell of Anthony and C. Michael Williams of Maxwelton.
Lucie T. Refsland of Lewisburg, president of the board of managers, and Larry Cordell, camp manager, conducted the induction with Mike Williams presenting the invocation and Cordell presented an overview of the camp for 2016.
The new inductees join 47 others who have been previously named to the Honor Roll which is mounted on the north wall of the assembly hall at the camp.
A dinner honoring the new inductees was served to some 40 guests by the youth camp staff following the ceremony.
Located at Anthony on the Greenbrier River, the Greenbrier County Youth Camp is a nonprofit organization providing camping experience to more than 1,600, May through September, each year since 1954. Groups which use the camp facilities include 4-H, church camps, high school band camps, family reunions, scout groups, and the consumer education organizations as well as specialized camps for special needs campers.
