The Spartan Marching Band of Greenbrier East High School will participate in the annual Frankford Autumfest Parade on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. through downtown Frankford and then will march in the annual Greenbrier Valley Shrine Club Parade at 4 p.m. in downtown Lewisburg.
This past weekend, the Spartans claimed first place in their class at the Martinsburg High School’s 38th annual Band Spectacular and also won the award for the show having the best overall general effect. The Martinsburg event featured bands from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia and is affiliated with the U.S. Bands Gold Level competitions.
On Oct. 1, the Spartan bandsmen will be participating in the Southern Thunder Marching Competition, hosted by Princeton High School’s Tiger Marching Band.
Oct. 14 will be the first opportunity the Spartan Band will have to present the field show, “Marks the Spot,” before the home crowd at Spartan Stadium during the halftime of the Greenbrier East/Logan high schools’ football game.

The Spartan Band’s leadership team just after accepting their awards on Saturday evening. Drum major/field conductor John Ambler is shown holding the First Place in Class award while James Floyd is holding the Best General Effects award.
