Earl Robert Bostic, 81, of Rupert went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, surrounded by his family at his home. Earl was born on Feb. 22, 1944, at White Sulphur Springs to the late Earl and Ruby (Moss) Bostic.

He retired from Gateway Industries as the Maintenance Supervisor. Earl always like to “piddle” and stay busy all the time. He loved building cars and working on them. Earl was very fond of his cat, Binx, who lived with him for 22 years.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Wanda Bostic, Connie Miller, Donna Bostic, Geraldine Kessler, brothers-in-law Johnny Simms, David Williams; and stepson Steven McCallister.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years Jeannie; daughter Holly (Gary) Daviskiba of Summersville, SC; son Earl, Jr. (Rhonda) of Las Vegas, NV; step-daughter Leona Mattey; sisters Geneva Ventures, Bonnie Bostic, Diane Bostic, Betty Bostic; brother Arnold (Dianna) Bostic; and grandchildren Conner Bostic, Teague Bostic, Logan Ziegler, Dakota Locklear, Devin Locklear, Jackson Mattey, Mason Mattey; and a special brother-in-law Arthur Slussar.

A viewing will be held at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, WV, on Saturday, Aug. 30, from 4 to 6 p.m. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow with interment in Wallace Memorial Cemetery at a later time.

Smathers Funeral Chapel is honored to care for Earl and his family during their great time of need. Online condolences may be made at www.smathersfuneralchapelinc.com
