Dream Weaver, Inc. is offering a program this summer to help first-time job seekers develop work skills. The program is free, and a certificate will be presented to each participant who completes the program.
Students will be trained in preparing job applications and resumes, as well as learning how to respond to interviews with employers. They will be trained to count money and use a cash register. They will have the opportunity to volunteer in Dream Weaver’s retail shops, with supervision.
Dream Weaver’s shops include a thrift store, an ice cream shop, a game arcade, car-detailing, and a cookie bake shop, as well as a gym. This retail experience in a real-life setting could be the first entry on their resume. Volunteer hours are an asset to the successful applicant.
The program will consist of 12 sessions conducted over a six-week period of time. Each session will be no more than two hours long. Classes will be held at the Dream Weaver site at 57 West Main Street, White Sulphur Springs. Interested applicants may call 304-536-1800 for more information.
