Dr. Kelli A. White has joined the faculty of New River Community and Technical College as a visiting instructor of social services. She coordinates the associate degree program in social science at the Raleigh County Campus in Beckley. She also serves as the faculty advisor for the Browning Social Service Club, a service organization named in honor of Dr. Carolyn Browning, a beloved professor in the program who died suddenly in 2012.
White had been an adjunct faculty member at New River CTC since 2005 while working full-time as a senior rehabilitation counselor with the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services in Beckley. She had previously been the family service coordinator and camp director and counselor for Pressley Ridge Schools in Crab Orchard.
A native of New Jersey, White earned an undergraduate degree from Northeastern Bible College, a master’s from Marshall University and a doctorate from George Washington University in Washington, DC.
New River Community and Technical College serves nine counties in southeastern West Virginia from the Greenbrier Valley Campus (Lewisburg), Mercer County Campus (Princeton), Nicholas County Campus (Summersville) and Raleigh County Campus (Beckley). Administrative offices are located in Beckley.
