Dorothy Mae Erskine

Lewisburg-Dorothy Mae Erskine, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at Greenbrier Manor in Fairlea.

She was born Sept. 15, 1925, in Ronceverte and was the daughter of the late Charles Houston and Lucy Mae Morgan.

Dorothy was of the Pentecostal Faith, a volunteer at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, but most importantly was a witness to the Gospel of the Lord.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ellery S. Erskine; granddaughter, Debbie Kirk and sister, Kathrine Erskine.

Surviving are: daughter, Phyllis Hoke (James) of Ronceverte; son, John Erskine (Frances) of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Jamie Hoke and Amy Nutter; great-grandchildren, Hayden Hoke, Amick Nutter, Andrew Nutter and expecting John-Luke Ellery Hoke; sisters, Ellouise Weikle (Calvin) of Organ Cave and Dreama Lucas (Bernie) of Organ Cave; brothers, Charles Houston Morgan, Jr. (Thelma) of Ronceverte and Kermit Lee Morgan (Bonnie) of Organ Cave.

Funeral services for Mrs. Erskine were held Monday, Dec. 8, at the New Covenant Sanctuary on Goheen Street in Fairlea with Rev. Susan Erskine and Rev. Calvin Weikle where officiated.

Interment was in Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery at Organ Cave.

The family received friends and family on Sunday evening, Dec. 7, at the church.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg was in charge of arrangements.
