Donald Gary “Don” Holliday, 84, of Organ Cave, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Mar. 17, 2025, at the Lindside Healthcare Center, following a brief illness. Born on Mar. 8, 1941, in Ronceverte, he was the son of the late James Richard and Lucille Mae Morgan Holliday.

Don was a man of many talents with a heart for entrepreneurship. He retired from the life insurance industry but continued to channel his entrepreneurial spirit through the ownership and operation of several businesses, including the D & D Convenience Store, The Barn Store, and Greenbrier Farm and Home Supply at Organ Cave. His love for gardening and outdoor work was evident in the care he took of his home and surroundings. He had a passion for outdoor activities, with a particular fondness for hunting whitetail deer.

A devoted member, Sunday School Teacher and Deacon of the Ronceverte Baptist Church, Don cherished his church family and took great joy in singing in the choir. His generosity knew no bounds as he consistently offered a helping hand to anyone in need, making a significant impact on his community. Don’s heart of gold and unwavering kindness will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.  Don Holliday’s memory will forever be etched into the hearts of those who loved him, as his spirit of kindness, community involvement, and steadfast faith continues to inspire all who knew him.

Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dreama Sue Adkins Holliday, who was his life partner, best friend, and source of endless support. As well as his siblings, Linda Morgan (Zack) and Tom “Tucker” Holliday.

His legacy lives on through his surviving family members, including his daughter, Angel Williams and her husband Craig of Pickaway; sons, Gary Holliday and his wife Susie, and Jamie Holliday and his wife Tracy, all of Organ Cave. Don also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jeremy Vance (Autumn), Kagney Shockley, Cody Holliday (Rachel), Logan Holliday, Amelia Holliday, Ariel Henderson (Alec), and Bailey Phillips (Isaac), along with several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His siblings, Mike Holliday (Wendy), Janice Deem (David), all of Organ Cave, and Dickie Holliday (Brenda) of Ronceverte, will miss him dearly, as will his sister-in-law, Nesta Cline, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Don’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 21, at the Ronceverte Baptist Church with Pastor Andy Howdock and Pastor Roger “Wahoo” McDaniel officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:30 until the time of the service, Friday, at the church. Following the service, Don will be laid to rest in the Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery in Organ Cave, WV.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations of sympathy be made to the Ronceverte Baptist Church Community Benevolence Fund, 437 Main Street West, Ronceverte, WV 24970. Friends and family are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.morganfh.net. Arrangements are entrusted to Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV.
