Lewisburg-Dewey Roscoe Sears, 81, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg.
He was born May 2, 1934, at Blue Sulphur Springs, a son of the late William John and Sadie Ardell Jackson Sears.
Mr. Sears was retired from the Brass Shop at The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs and was a member of Laurel Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gaylene Limmerman.
He is survived by: his wife, Marjorie “Evelyn” Tincher Sears; daughter, Dreama Higgs and husband Michael of Dothan, AL; two sons, Franklin Sears of Lewisburg and Allen Sears of Shady Springs; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Sears of Shady Springs; grandchildren, Michael Higgs and wife Linsey of Dothan, AL, Valerie Long of Baltimore, MD, Kip Sears of Lewisburg, Nicole Higgs of Port Saint John, FL, and Jordan Sears, Denver Sears and Brooklynn Sears, all of Shady Springs; great-grandchildren, Brantle Higgs, Blake Griffith, Lacey Jennings, Kali Jennings, Bryce Sears and Cadences Sears; two sisters, Marie Loudermilk of Clintonville and Rosalie Edna Hedrick and husband James of Roanoke, VA; and two brothers, Carl Sears and Larry Sears and wife Kathy, all of Lewisburg.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, where Rev, Melvin Wills officiated. Interment followed at Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.
The family received friends prior to the services at the funeral home.
