Hillsboro-Dawn Amber Meyer, 52, of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015.
She was born Dec. 7, 1962, and was a daughter of the late John William Blake and Elva Mae Blake.
She graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale with an associate’s degree in Fashion Illustration. She was a devoted wife and mother who never met a person she wouldn’t reach out to.
Being the co-founder of Camp Oak Marr in Hillsboro, a 501(c)3 charity dedicated to helping special needs children and their families, was the crowning jewel of her life’s accomplishments. Camp Oak Marr will continue forward in her honor as per her wishes.
Survivors include her husband of 20 years, John Douglas Meyer; daughter, Tabitha Ramsey Schuertzmann and granddaughter, Aurora; sisters, Shawn Marie Vaelz and Jackie D, Sexton; and brothers, Gary Allen Sebring and Richard D. Sebring.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at Camp Oak Marr on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. It will be a casual affair, and close friends and family are invited to stay afterwards for a short potluck dinner.
