Ronceverte-David Lee (Toots) Napier was born June 25, 1949, at South Charleston, WV, to George Andrew Napier and Geraldine Ruth Jones.
Toots passed away Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020, in his apartment in Ronceverte.
He grew up in West Virginia and joined the Air Force in 1968 during the Vietnam War and served his country honorably until 1972. Toots lived most of his adult life in Michigan and has three sons. He had a passion for music, wrote several of his own songs and could play many instruments, his favorite being the guitar. Upon retiring, he returned to West Virginia to be close to his family.
Toots is survived by his sons, Virgil Napier and wife Jennifer, Michael Napier and fiancé Alicia and David Napier; two grandchildren, Heather Ware and husband Nicholas and Thomas Napier; sister, Barbara Napier Deem and husband Tommy; three brothers, Houston Napier and wife Nancy, Ronnie Napier and wife Karen and Michael Napier; cousins, nieces and nephews; Sherry Napier and many friends.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Pastor Gary Baker officiating. The U.S. Air Force will conduct funeral honors at the chapel.
