White Sulphur Springs

-Darrell Eugene Coleman, Sr., 82, passed away at his home on Monday, Dec. 4, 2023.

Born Nov. 11, 1941 in White Sulphur Springs, he was a son of the late Elmer Richard Coleman, Sr. and Elsie Evelyn Sizemore Coleman. 

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Starlena Cole Coleman; a sister, Mary Jane Bennett; and brothers, Donald Coleman and Elmo Lee Coleman.

Prior to working as a banker at The Bank of White Sulphur Springs he worked at Perry’s Supermarket and carried bulk mail to Bluefield, WV. Following his banking career, he worked as a cashier for Vaughn’s Yesteryear Convenience Store.

Darrell was a member of Full Gospel Lighthouse in White Sulphur Springs. 

Surviving are sons, “Bud” Coleman (Terri) and Richard “Ricky” Coleman (Tonya) both of White Sulphur Springs; 6 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; one sister, Pat Tingler; and two brothers, Eddie Coleman and Elmer Coleman, Jr. both of White Sulphur Springs.

Funeral services will be on Monday, Dec. 11, at 12 noon at White Sulphur Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Gene Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church.
