Daniel Alden Rudd, Sr., of Williamsburg, WV, formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed away peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospice House in Roanoke, VA, on Sept. 2, 2025, after a long illness.
Daniel was born on Apr. 4, 1944, in Friars Hills, WV. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Daniel Alden Rudd, Jr. (Tuck), of Durham, NC; his parents Elza Rudd and Grace (Johnson) Rudd and five siblings; Samuel Rudd, Ada Rose, Melissa Morgan (Tim), Lesa McCoy and Dennis Rudd (LeAnn); and lifetime friends and fishing buddies Larry Floyd and Roy Means both of Baltimore, MD.
He is survived by his beloved partner of 25 years, Anne Steele McMennamy of Covington, VA; daughters, Dawn Hair-Rudd (Tiki); Terri Webb and Allison Lane (Doyle); grandchildren, Jessica Rudd (Reb) of Dawson, WV, Shannon and Avery of Durham, NC, Kendra Webb of Ashland, KY, Kirstin Cole, Anna Cole and Michael Monte of Lewisburg, WV; and one great-grandson, Roman; his beloved pet Tooie, several nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Daniel was an avid fisherman and a talented artist. He was a member of Lewisburg Elks Lodge BPOE for many years serving as Exalted Ruler for one term.
Celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family wishes for donations to be made to Good Samaritan Hospice House, 4751 Cove Road NW, Roanoke, VA 24017, where he was exceptionally cared for during his last days.
